We did some more coastal work today and rented a boat to find the real mouth of the Sungai Menkrawit, and possible mollusc/corals localities which were discovered over 90 years ago. We succeeded in finding the river, and also in fossil molluscs and corals, but these were all present in crab mounts that dug them up from a slightly deeper layer that was not exposed. Some digging and further exploration will be needed here. In the afternoon we visited the overlying limestones. These turn out to be full of various sorts of coral dominated facies, and at some places these weather out nicely. Several molluscs are present, among which Tridacna (in bad condition) and very large Kuphus.
